Men's Prayer Breakfast

Therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others

Carol Engelhart from Calvary Faith and Justice  who lives right off Edmond’s Boulevard invites you to sign this petition to change the name of Edmond Boulevard to a historic black person in Minneapolis.  I am asking you to join with me in signing this petition for the name change because Edmond Walton was a developer who restricted ownership by people of color by instituting racial restrictive covenants and also not allowing people of color to own property he developed around the Twin Cities This practice led to low home ownership by people of color and an inability to build household wealth, problems that persist today.

Please go to this site and sign the petition. We need to tell the city council that we want a name that honors the black community of Minneapolis and repair the harm from having Edmond’s Boulevard named for a man who restricted black and brown people from home ownership.
